The July ISA/FLACSO Quito conference was a great success in virtually every way you can imagine. The high-level intellectual dialogue, interactions with our colleagues from around the world, and the lovely food and scenery that Ecuador has to offer made this an event to remember. I’m sure many of us have yet to sort through all the photos of stunning vistas that seemed to be everywhere we looked. Moreover, in the end, we had nearly 900 attendees filling the hallways and classrooms at FLACSO.
We especially want to thank Cintia Quiliconi and Kristy Belton for their work as program co-chairs and the many others at FLACSO and ISA HQ that made this event possible. Without their efforts, we would not have had nearly as worthwhile an experience. All in all, this was a special experience for ISA members and FLACSO-Ecuador and we anticipate similar positive experiences at future international conferences, including Belgrade in June 2019.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Toronto in March 2019 or in Quito for another opportunity to collaborate!

La Conferencia conjunta ISA/FLACSO de Quito fue un gran éxito en todo sentido que puedan imaginar. El alto nivel de diálogo intelectual, las interacciones con nuestros colegas de alrededor del mundo y la excelente gastronomía y los paisajes que Ecuador tiene para ofrecer han hecho que el evento sea para recordar. Seguramente muchos de nosotros tenemos aún que dar cuenta de varias fotos con las espectaculares vistas que nos rodearon durante la conferencia. Además, finalmente, contamos casi con 900 asistentes que poblaron las aulas y los pasillos de FLACSO.
Queremos agradecer especialmente a Cintia Quiliconi y Kristy Belton por su trabajo como coordinadoras de programa y también el apoyo que recibimos del staff de FLACSO e ISA para hacer este evento posible. Sin sus esfuerzos, no hubiéramos tenido una experiencia tan valiosa. En definitiva, este fue un evento especial para los miembros de ISA y para la FLACSO-Ecuador y anticipamos otras experiencias similares en conferencias internacionales futuras, incluyendo la de Belgrado en junio de 2019.
