CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
EDITOR(S), INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PERSPECTIVES
The Publications Committee of the International Studies Association (ISA) and the Executive Committee will make a recommendation to the ISA Governing Council regarding the assignment of editorial duties for International Studies Perspectives (https://academic.oup.com/isp) at the 2019 annual meeting in Toronto. The individual or team selected to serve as editor(s) of ISP will hold that position for a five-year term January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2024. There will also be some transitional duties during late 2019.
The lead editor(s) should hold secure positions (typically tenured rank or the equivalent) at an academic institution and receive a measure of support from their home institution for their editorial tasks. ISP’s subvention from ISA for expenses related to running the journal are $40,000 per year. Guidelines for preparing a proposal, framing a budget, and frequently asked questions can be found on the ISA website,

The proposal should include a statement of the editorial teams’ vision for the management and improvement of the journal, a statement about what role different members of the editorial team will play, a description of resources to be provided by the editors’ universities, letters of support from relevant authorities at editorial teams’ universities confirming their commitment to provide resources, a budget, and CVs for the proposed editor(s).
The Publications Committee will review all proposals meeting essential criteria as soon as possible. Proposals received no later than September 15, 2018 are assured most thorough consideration. The Publications Committee must forward its recommendations to the ISA Executive Committee by November 30, 2018.
